I am a board-certified psychiatrist with a specialization in addiction psychiatry. My expertise lies in treating addiction and alcohol abuse in high functioning executives and young professionals. Many of my clients seek treatment because their substance use is a threat to their success: they have much to lose and want to regain control of their lives. Rather than classifying my patients as "addicts" and putting them in a one-size-fits-all program, my practice philosophy is unique in the addiction field: a completely individualized and humanistic treatment approach. Each person is assessed to formulate a customized plan that can include treatment with evidence-based medication and/or individual psychotherapy.
My goal is to craft a finely tuned individualized treatment plan to target the needs of each patient. I collaboratively work with patients to provide the most personalized care directed toward their overall wellbeing. I use a holistic approach deploying all the modern tools available including, but not limited to: medication when appropriate, individual supportive psychotherapy, and motivational interviewing. My areas of focused treatment interventions include mood disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and substance use.
When someone has an addiction problem, they have usually started abusing substances in order to self-medicate an underlying disorder. As an addiction psychiatrist, I specialize in both psychotherapy and medication management of anxiety disorders, mood disorders (depression), and OCD.
