Hi! I'm Jillian, and I am so happy you're here! I am deeply passionate about the therapeutic process and relationship and believe progress starts before the first session begins (yes, even right now as you read this).
I currently hold a Master's degree in Forensic Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, where I graduated in 2021. I have experience working with the lifespan, thanks to my training in residential care and community mental health. I currently hold my LPC license and am in the process of obtaining my LCPC.
In terms of my approach, I am an empathic, relational therapist with a focus on strengths-based interventions. This may look different from person to person, but may involve coping skill development and exploration and/or the use of specific CBT, gestalt, and existential therapeutic approaches. I tend to be eclectic in the way I approach therapy and tailor interventions to what you need in the moment (sometimes we will even sit in silence to process). I believe that you are the expert of your own experience and that you are doing your best in life, and that my role is to help you see yourself more clearly. I am committed to creating a safe, judgement-free, respectful environment where you are able to achieve your goals and work through challenges.
I have significant experience working with LGBTQ+ individuals and provide gender-affirming and sexuality-affirming care. I also am passionate about working with adolescents and young adults as well as families and couples. I look forward to joining you on your journey toward mental health, wellness, and self-love.
