Healing is a process, and it can be a difficult one. My goal as a therapist is to support you in that journey. I most often work with individuals who are LGBTQ and/or neurodivergent, and I support them with navigating anxiety, burnout, relationship issues, codependency, self-esteem issues, difficulties with emotional regulation, or just coping with the stressors of everyday life. My practice is always sex-positive and supportive of non-monogamous relationships. I also take a trauma-informed, harm reduction approach that emphasizes your safety and continued growth.
My therapeutic approach integrates DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) techniques and creative arts therapy. This DBT-informed art therapy is a unique form of psychotherapy that utilizes creativity, mindfulness and skill-building to support the therapeutic process. For some, traditional talk therapy can be limiting, and art therapy provides additional tools to communicate, process, grieve, and learn. Art making though is never required. We can focus more on talking while practicing skills and techniques from DBT that you can use everyday. I believe the therapeutic space to be a collaborative one where together we will figure out what works best for you.
I'm a licensed professional counselor. I attended Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY for my Master's degree, and for undergraduate, I went to Howard University in D.C. to achieve my Bachelor's of Science in Psychology. While I've lived across the U.S., I'm excited to be back in my hometown supporting the people of my city.
